Deckparty FAQ
How do I know if my RSVP went through?
You should have seen a confirmation screen upon registering online.
What’s the attire of the event?
Unless you work at home in your underwear, most likely whatever you wore to work that day.
I’m currently in the job market and plan to attend. Is it OK to bring resumes?
We don’t know when it’s ever appropriate to approach people you don’t know with a resume at a business networking event. Don’t be that guy or gal. If you happen to find yourself as a “forced consultant” we do empathize with you, but remember this is a place to make connections and not a job fair.
Most of you know the game on this, but we want to help those of you in this situation who can use networking assistance. Let’s compare this to dating for a second… if you’re single and met someone at a party and the first thing you tell them is that you’re single and you want to know if they are looking for someone to date… they will suddenly remember they left their cell phone in the kitchen and it’s end game. No different in the business world. Build relationships first – the rest will fall into place. Follow your passion and good luck!
Is it too late to sponsor the DeckParty?
It’s never too late! More sponsors = More fun for everyone. If you want real time exposure to the who’s who of the technology and startup scene in the Triangle, drop us a note. scott@techmediaco.com
